Heralding in the 63rd Cannes Film Festival, as a part of exhibition “Cannes fait le mur” that will take place until 12th July at Cannes, giant portraits of world renowned celebrities decorate the city of Cannes. These prestigious clichés were taken by one of the most sought after photographers of the 7th art, Lorenzo Agius, for the agency Contour, of Getty Images. He agreed to give us the “behind the scenes” interview.

Dès l’ouverture du 63ème Festival de Cannes, dans le cadre de l’exposition « Cannes fait le mur » qui se tiendra jusqu’au 12 juillet à Cannes, les stars s’offrent à tous les regards avec des portraits géants des plus belles têtes d’affiches du cinéma mondial. Ces clichés prestigieux ont été pris par l’un des photographes les plus prisés du 7ème art, le Britannique Lorenzo Agius, pour l’agence Contour de Getty Images.

Lorsqu’on s’intéresse à l’Histoire de la photographie ou à la Photographie contemporaine, le courant de la photographie humaniste est rarement de la fête. C’est comme si ses “correspondants de paix”, Robert Doisneau, Edouard Boubat, Willy Ronis mais aussi Sabine Weiss, Janine Nièpce et Pierre Jahan étaient hors norme ou passés de mode (…). Quoi qu’il en soit, dans notre époque où la presse ne cesse de nous parler d’affrontements sociaux, politiques, européens et mondiaux, il peut être agréable de faire une pause en ouvrant grand nos yeux pour découvrir actuellement à Paris trois expositions plus ou moins proches de ce courant humaniste.
